The Honda Stream will appeal to those who appreciate a sporty drive but need the practicality. It is a mini-MPV which can seat up to seven people. However, the Stream’s surprisingly sporty dynamics mean it feels more sports car than MPV. What makes it unique is that this car is genuinely fun to drive
The Stream comes in 1.7 liter and 2.0 liter petrol engines with i-VTEC technology. The sprint to 60mph takes just 9.2 seconds for the manual version, or 11 seconds with the sequential automatic box. A top speed of 127mph can be achieved, but will probably not be necessary. The steering is light and direct with plenty of feel. Handling is safe and responsive even when fully loaded.
The interior is spacious for five people. It has 3 rows of seats; 2 seats in the front, 3 in the middle and 2 in the back. The front seats are very comfortable. The seat in the middle can seat 3 but the middle one only has a lap belt. As the seat at the back does not have a window to open, there is a fan which can be operated from the front or the back. Probably the biggest disadvantage with this car is its lack of boot space, although seats fold for added space in the rear.
Overall, the Stream is a safe and reliable car. It is a little expensive if you compare it to some of the competitors in the segment. But you will appreciate its sporty characteristics and excellent build quality.
