The Toyota Allion is a compact sedan. It is sold in Japan by Toyota. In terms of design, the Allion seems to be pretty similar to the Toyota Vios.
The car has a stylish, sporty look to it. The large headlamps add to the pleasing effect. The back and brake lights are quite similar to those on the Vios. Compared with other sedans like the Toyota Corolla Altis, this is clearly one of Toyota’s best designs.
The car comes in 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 liter engines. The 1.5 and 1.8 comes with a Super ECT 4-speed automatic transmission, but the 2.0 liter VVT-i engine comes with a Super CVT transmission (Continuously Variable Transmission). Because of this, the engine compensates smoothly for any speed changes, and performs at full efficiency. The CVT transmission also improves fuel economy as well as exhaust emissions. There are no jerky gear changes with the infinitely variable gear ratios.
The 1.5 and 1.8 versions of the Allion come with 2WD and 4WD options, while the 2.0 Super CVT comes only in 2WD. The VVT-I engine provides 192Nm of torque @4000rpm. It gives a mileage of 15.2km per liter.
The interiors are done in black and grey. The three-spoke steering wheel gives a sporty feel to the car as well. The interior is not too spacious, which is expected of a car this size. Still, the company should think about raising the headroom in the rear, for tall people. Even with these minor issues, the Allion is a pretty impressive car.
