The Toyota Mark X is a mid-sized car created by Toyota for the Japanese market. It is the successor to the popular Toyota Mark II. The Mark X was introduced in 2004. It is also sold in China as the Toyota Reiz. It is available with either a 3.0 L or 2.5 L Toyota GR Series V6 engine.
The Toyota Mark X is positioned to target male individuals in their 30s, and in Japan it is aimed at the middle market segment although it’s impressive feature set and looks could qualify it in the luxury segment. It is so exclusive that it is only sold in selected Toyota outlets in Japan, and Naza’s Sportivo division is now importing it to Malaysia.
The Toyota Mark X shares the same rear wheel drive platform as the Toyota Crown and the Lexus GS luxury sedan. It is powered by either a 2.5 liter V6 4GR-FE, or a 3.0 liter V6 3GR-FE. Both engines are aluminum blocked, and have Toyota D4 direct injection. The 3.0 liter V6’s 256HP is accompanied by a 6-speed automatic transmission. There are 4WD models but those come with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The lower-end 2.5 liter V6 has slightly lesser power, 215HP to be exact.
The Mark X is available in a selection of colors, such as Black, Silver, Light Blue and Dark Blue. The 4731 mm long sedan rides on a chassis with 4-wheel, independent suspension. It also has an advanced multi-link layout at the rear for superior driving dynamics.
