The Nissan NX is a sports coupe produced by Nissan. It offers a wonderful blend of style, handling, power and economy.
There are three different models: the base level 200SX, the well-equipped 200SX SE and the sporty 200SX SE-R. The base 200SX is a no-frills car with 13-inch wheels; the 200SX SE is the mid-grade model with 14-inch alloy wheels; and the 200SX SE-R is equipped with handsome 15-inch aluminum wheels and a little wing on the back. The latter is currently priced just over $15,500. It comes with a 2.0-liter engine, anti-lock brakes (ABS), air conditioning and cruise control.
In North America, the models available were the NX1600 and NX2000. The NX1600 was based on the standard 1.6 L Sentra, and the NX2000 was based on the 2.0 L SE-R model. The NX2000, with its light weight chassis, and limited-slip differential was considered one of the best-handling front-wheel-drive cars of the time. It had some mechanical improvements over the SE-R version. Amongst other changes, it had larger brakes and more aggressive tires on wider 6" wheels.
On the NX2000, passenger space is somewhat tight. In front, elbow room is limited and so is headroom. Legroom is very good, however, and so is cargo space. The interior of the 200SX SE-R car conveys a sense of quality and careful construction. The bucket seats, upholstered in cloth are extremely comfortable.
This car's safety features are good, including dual airbags and side-impact door beams on all models. ABS is available as an extra-cost option on both the SE and SE-R.
