The Nissan Navara is a pickup truck, meant primarily for commercial purposes. It has been developed alongside the Pathfinder SUV and as such shares many of the features of a quality off-roader. However, it is more sophisticated than a pure utility vehicle.
The Navara is available as a “King Cab”, with small rear doors that permit occasional rear seating for two. The other model, the Double Cab, features four conventional doors and seats up to five. The King Cab has the larger capacity pick-up bay. The Double Cab offers 2.36 cubic meters; the King Cab which has the biggest load area available has 2.9 cubic meters of capacity. Both can cope with a payload of at least 1073kg. The King Cab also has two rear seats which can be folded away when not needed.
The Navara has a significantly more potent engine than any rival. The 2.5 V6 turbo diesel engine produces 171bhp. It is also equipped with a four-wheel drive system with high and low ratios. The ladder-frame chassis and front suspension are the same as the Pathfinder. Because of this, the Navara is very capable in on-road and off-road environments. The car races from zero to 60mph time of 10.8 seconds for a Standard King Cab, which is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox. Double Cab Outlaw and Aventura are optionally available with five-speed automatic transmissions.
For safety, all models have driver and passenger airbags, plus ABS brakes with Brake Assist. The Navara is a reliable, comfortable and extremely versatile product.
