The 2006 Tiburon is a nicely styled sports coupe with an optional V6 power plant, which has limited power output, weighs too much and has a sloppy suspension.
The design profile of the Tiburon is similar to profile designs of leading Italian sports coupes with its rising midline, sweeping roofline and scooped details. The side profile, cool alloy wheels and performance specification tires attract attention and will turn the heads of passing motorists and pedestrians. Most buyers of the Tiburon did so because of its stylish, sporty design, coupled with a comfortable everyday driving experience and long list of safety equipment.
The Tiburon outweighs its competitors in the sports coupe class and has soft suspension, which together limit it handling ability. For drivers who live to throw their cars into corners fast, or take on the B-roads, then a Honda Civic S or Cooper S will better suit your needs.
Sitting on top of the 16- or 17-inch high performance alloy wheels is a choice of engines that include 138 horsepower 2.0-liter inline four for the GS or a 172 horsepower 2.7-liter V6 on the GT or SE. The GS and GT are available with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, while the SE can be had with either a six-speed manual or the automatic.
The latter engine is the only one worth looking at, as the four-cylinder barely produces enough power to move the heavy coupe. The suspension, with is bland supple ride, is not very ‘sporty’, while steering is slow with little road feel. The Tiburon is best suited for everyday driving and for drivers looking for attention.
