The Ford Courier is a car that promises all-round performance and drivability to its owner. The new Courier now delivers more power with the arrival of high-stepping V6 variants.
Ford Couriers can be found with a choice of two engines; the familiar 2.6-liter petrol engine and the 2.5-liter turbo-charged and intercooled diesel engine. Ford's V6 runs two overhead camshafts and a variable induction system. The Turbocharger System that is found in the Ford Courier is a custom-built Garrett water-cooled turbocharger. These are generally considered the best turbochargers in the world. The engine produces a superb 154kW of power at 5250rpm, and 323Nm of torque at 3000rpm.
There are eight V6 Courier models in two and four-wheel drive. All the two-wheel drive V6s are crew cabs; the four-wheel drives are crew cabs plus a super cab in base trim. Two wheel drive Couriers have the road stance of a four-wheel drive, a little more ground clearance plus a little more aggression to the style. You can get five-speed automatic transmission in Crew Cab models, at no extra cost over the standard five speed manual transmission. The former is an electronically controlled auto that adapts to the driver's driving style, and has an overdrive lock-out.
What has made the Ford Courier one of the most widely acknowledged trucks is that it is genuinely strong and tough, similar to the F-series trucks. For safety, the Ford Courier has a driver’s airbag, along with other features like side door anti-intrusion beams and a collapsible steering column.
