The Dodge Razor is a concept car created by Dodge, in collaboration with scooter manufacturer, Razor. It was first introduced at the 2002 North American International Auto Show.
The rear wheel drive Dodge Razor hits 60 mph in under six seconds, goes faster than 140 miles per hour, and has a six-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is powered by a 2.4 liter turbocharged I4 engine; this engine is also used in the Neon SRT-4. To keep the Dodge Razor affordable should it ever reach production, many corporate suspension and underbody components were used. The targeted price is an amazing $14,500; however, the realistic price will most likely be around $18,000.
The Dodge Razor concept car embodies the purest of sports coupe design. Through efficient design, Dodge Razor cuts right to what is vital for enhanced driving pleasure. The Razor offers only the necessities for driving. There are no power windows or mirrors, no radio or leather power seats, no other frills. Dodge Razor offers its two occupants lightweight, competition-style seats, and four-point racing harnesses. Storage space is provided behind the seats. The instrument cluster has an integrated tachometer/speedometer with analog reading of the revs, plus a digital read-out of the speed. The interior is finished in body color and extruded aluminum.
Two orange Razor scooters are packaged inside the Dodge Razor. There is a rumor that the Dodge Razor will have a production version coming out in the next few years called the Dodge Scooter. The latter is a very small, two-door, two-seat, low-slung sports car.
